Each year we will chose a new famous bear worthy of having an award named after him. Last year it was Alfonzo, this year it's Bristol. The bear lost at Bristol airport with a fascinating and tragic WW1 story.
The British Teddy Bear Festival Awards 2018. This year our famous bear is Bristol and so we have the "Bristol" British Teddy Bear Artist Awards which are a celebration of Teddy Bears, Animals and Characters made by talented artists from all over the world. These prestigious awards are to recognise, honour and celebrate the very best of teddy bears, animals and characters, and to acknowledge the best of their manufactured equivalents. The Awards will be announced on Saturday evening June 9th at the Awards Garden Party. If you would like your entry to be on show before and during the announcements and at the Festival then please bring him with you. Please do not send any bears to us. Please email for details email@example.com
We are delighted to announce that the original Bristol himself will be on show in our special exhibition in our British Teddy Bear Festival at Woburn Abbey, courtesy of Ian Pout of Teddy Bears of Witney, winner of our Lifetime Achievement Award. We may even see Aloysius!
The culmination of this competition will be finding the Exceptional Artist Bears, Animals and Characters and those whom the judges find to be Exceptional, Excellent, Highly Commended or those whose artists have made a Superb Effort in a number of categories. Finally, there is the Lifetime Achievement Award in which bear artists will vote for the person who they think has added the most over a lifetime of work in the industry. The winner in 2017 was Ian Pout
